Macintosh/Windows Troubleshooting and Consulting Services

I started using a Mac in my last life of city management. In the early 80s, I worked on, but did not own, the Mac's predecessor, Lisa, which came with a 5MB hard drive and 1MB of RAM. It sold for $10,000! In early 1984, I purchased my first Mac. It had a 9" black and white monitor and only read 400K, 3.5"?, floppy disks. In conjunction with terminal emulation software, I used it to dial into the mainframe computer of the city in Missouri where I served as city manager. I also used it to write memos to the city council with Microsoft Word 1.0 and crunch budget numbers with Microsoft Excel 1.0.

When we moved to Austin, Texas, in the mid 80s, my office computer as Director of Information Systems for the city was a Macintosh SE. My home computer was a Mac Plus to which I eventually attached an external, 20MB, SCSI hard drive. The drive sold for $750.

Things have come a long way since those early days of personal computing. Computers are one of the few things in our lives that have gotten better and cheaper, especially when adjusted for inflation.

I've been a computer consultant for more than 15 years, now, and there isn't much I haven't done with them. My skill levels include proficiency with several application programs; troubleshooting operating system problems; and network design and troubleshooting.
